Back to Basics

I attended Jo Avila's Basic Photography Seminar for the past two Sundays (February 14 & 22) in his studio at Greenhills, San Juan. This was sort of a refresher for me since I've already attended FPPF's Basic and Advance photo workshop long ago when it was only me and my Nikon F60. And ever since I went 'digital' with my Nikon D80, I just figured out all the camera settings by myself and I've been processing my photos only through Picasa, Picture Project and through some 'tools' I am familiar with at Photoshop, and so I thought it was time to get to know more about my gear and learn 'more' about 'basic' (hehe..) Photoshop and Color Management. So there, all the while I thought going digital would make my life easier, but I was so wrong..hehe.

Anyway, First Sunday was like deja vu - it was f/stops all over again, haha! - but in fairness, Jo Avila made it all not-so-complicated, or maybe I wasn't just listening before, haha! Second Sunday was about basic photoshop and color management, which is the main reason why I signed up for this seminar. Now, I better start 'practicing' everything that I've learned from the seminar bago ako malito uli..hehe. (Honey, I need a new laptop!) :D

Crumpler's Beer for Bags Promo!

On my way to the office this morning, I heard over the radio about the Crumpler Beer for Bags Promo which is happening from February 21 to February 26 only at Bonifacio High Street! Check out the link and see which items you need to bring to get that Crumpler bag. I said 'items,' because aside from beers, you also need to bring food items like barbecue sauce, Doritos, Cheetos, Tabasco, and chicharon (promise!) depending on which bag you like. Cute 'no? haha! I know you still need to shell out some cash to buy the beers, etc. in exchange for the bags, but still, the prices of the bags are 30% to 50% cheaper when bought with beer than with cash, so that's 50 to 70% discount! Plus, for every bag you buy, you also get a ticket to Crumpler's Beer for Bags Party on February 27, 8pm, at Warehouse 135a, where all those beers and food items collected will be served!

By the way, the promo is for 18 years old and above only! :D

Valentine's at Payatas

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." - 1 Corinthians 13:13 (New International Version)

So where did I spend Valentine's Day? My Flickr group had another outreach project which we called "Capture a Heart" and we distributed goods (bigas, canned goods, and toys!) to the kids of Payatas in Quezon City. We had a short program, and then we served lunch, and then the kids lined up to get their bags of goodies to bring home to their families. Tapos, kami naman kumain - the best ang ensaladang ampalaya ni Manang! - hehe. Now, that's what you call a 'date'! Here are the photos! :)

By the way, Danny and I are having our date next week..puede ba namang wala? :D
